Kindergarten Students in 21st century after school program are learning about the 5 senses .

LEAP Achievement Breakfast to recognize students who scored basic or above on two or more areas on the 2023 Spring LEAP Assessment. Two students, Jace Lacey and Catyren Collin were recognized and awarded a certificate of achievement and a new chromebook for achieving basic or above on all four parts of the LEAP. A total of 18 students were invited to attend the breakfast.


Students in Food and Nutrition practice their food handler and knife skills by making salads and dressings from scratch.


5th graders at Rosenwald are excited to learn the hold used to slip and score pottery thru a hands on lesson. Mrs. Lisa Nelson (Pottery Artist) and Mrs. Gale Roy (Director of the Arts Council of Pointe Coupee) joined Ms. Kim Neal's art class to demonstrate and guide the students in creating their Flower Pot. Students are looking forward to seeing the their completed artwork!


Pre-K Students at Rougon made “name snakes” in class. They had to find the letters of their name and put them in order to form their name own snake 🐍


WAKE UP WILDCATS ... IT'S GAME DAY!! Some of the Football Players and Dance Team Members got our day started at Valverda by greeting kids in carpool and bus drop off! Fun Fridays start with high fives and dance moves!

To improve our schools, we have to humanize the people who work in them. A good education system is built on relationships with everyone involved in the process. At this time of year, our teachers are working to build meaningul relationships that foster academic and emotional growth in our students. It is important for parents to help to build those relationships too!

Our Administrators, Instructional Coaches, and District Level Staff have completed a three day evaluator training with the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching!
During this time together, they have gained deep knowledge and understanding of the NIET Teaching and Learning Standards! This group is ready to help support teachers and promote student ownership in the classroom this school year!

Students in Mrs. Jaci's first grade class at Rougon selected a plant to research for this reading unit. In this activity students are researching what kind of environment their plant lives in and then writing about it.


Busy bunnies need to eat to be ready to hop into Spring! Students in Mrs. Kayla's prek class at Rougon have been feeding their pet bunnies using carrot math!


And the race is on! Students in Ms. Tara Robillard's 6th Grade classes at STEM are constructing Hot Wheels racetracks to model Newton's Laws of Motion.

Is there a cautionary tale to be told in Middle School?
8th grade students in Mrs. Torres' class at STEM engaged in a Socratic Seminar to analyze and synthesize the meaning of multiple texts. Students answered the following question, Does Keyes draw on traditional stories to tell a hopeful story or a cautionary tale?


How do you measure success? Ms. Jarreau's second graders would say success is measured in the growth of a water sogged animal!
