A healthier future for our state begins with our children. Unfortunately, many Louisiana children face
hunger during the summer when they lose access to school meals. SUN Bucks, a summer grocery
benefits program, helps bridge the gap when school is out by providing families with a single, one-time
$120 benefit for each eligible child.
Pointe Coupee Schools are Community Eligibility Privision Schools and any parent interested must apply.Families of students who are not automatically eligible can apply at louisiana.summerebtapp.com. Applications for summer 2026 will be accepted until August 20, 2026. Any applications received after August 20, 2026 will be considered for summer 2027.
See flyers or visit https://ldh.la.gov/page/sun-bucks for more information.

Tomorrow, Monday, April 20th, our high schools will be administering LEAP EOC 2026 tests and will continue throughout the week; the following week, from Wednesday, April 29th through Wednesday, May 6th, our elementary and junior‑high schools will start their LEAP 2026 testing, with all state testing across the district concluding on Friday, May 15th.
Good afternoon,
All Pointe Coupee buses going to the Innis and Lettsworth areas may be late due to an overturned 18 wheeler at the corner of Gayden Rd (LA 1) and Purpera Road. If your student lives in this area you can expect a delayed afternoon arrival from the bus if the area has not been cleared by the time buses get to this area.
Pointe Coupee Parish Schools: All schools will be closed for students and teachers from Friday, April 3, through Friday, April 10. Classes will resume on Monday, April 13.

Reminder: The State Department of Education deems a child truant if they miss more than five days without an excuse. Parents are allowed to turn in 5 "hand written" notes per semester to excuse a child's absence. These are days that are not excused by a doctor's note. The school system has created a form in an effort to assist you with this. Go to the home page of our website and click on Parent Note Template for details and to submit your child's parent excuse.
