Governor Jeff Landry has officially proclaimed September 9, 2025, as Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day in Louisiana. On this day, SMA will join the movement to raise awareness and show support for the brave children and families impacted by pediatric cancer.
Students may donate $1 to participate in our Dollar Dress Day and wear gold to symbolize hope, strength, and solidarity. Every ribbon, every shirt, and every dollar helps shine a light on the fight for a cure.

We would like to remind you of Pointe Coupee School District's (State mandated) electronic device policy. In order to foster a more focused and engaging educational environment, cellphones, smart watches, aipods, over the ear headphones, and in-ear headphones are not permitted at school during instructional hours.
Parents, please review this policy with your child!

Did you know? Parents can write a note to excuse their child’s absence or tardy — but there are limits.
Here’s what you need to know:
* Families are allowed up to 5 parent notes per semester (a total of 10 per school year).
* Each note can excuse either a full day absence or a tardy.
* Parent notes must be submitted within the same month of the missed day or tardy.
* Notes should explain that your child was sick and unable to attend school.
We encourage parents to use the official template provided by the school district to make the process simple and smooth. Thank you for helping us keep records accurate and attendance strong! 💜🧡

We are excited to announce the date for our Meet the Eagles Open House Night, which will be held on Wednesday, September 24, from 6:00–7:30 PM here at SMA.
The evening will begin with a General Assembly from 6:00–6:30 PM, where important updates and information will be shared with families. Following the assembly, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to:
- Visit and shop at the Book Fair
- Meet with their child’s teachers to learn more about classroom expectations and upcoming opportunities for student success.
This event is an excellent opportunity for families to connect with faculty and staff, strengthen home–school partnerships, and engage in their child’s educational journey.
We look forward to seeing all of our Eagle families!
