Did you know that as many as one in three students in the country misses 10%, or about 18 days, of the school year? This September, join with us to celebrate the Attendance Awareness Campaign. We’re working together to make sure all kids show up and participate every day possible. Being in school supports students’ social, emotional and physical well-being, and provides students with opportunities to learn and reach for their dreams. Let’s show up together and get back into the habit of daily attendance!

☀️🌞 First Day of Summer 2024 🌞☀️ Today, June 20th, marks the summer solstice and the official start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere! The summer solstice is the longest day of the year, with the most hours of sunlight. This year’s solstice is unique — it’s the earliest summer solstice since 1796 — that was 228 years ago! The solstice occurs at 3:50 PM CDT (Baton Rouge). After today, the days will gradually start getting shorter again as we head towards the fall equinox. #summersolstice #summersolstice2024 #summerishere #longestday #pointecoupeeproud

Today we honor and celebrate Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce that the Civil War had ended and that all enslaved people were now free - over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Juneteenth is a day to reflect on the past, and current, struggles for freedom and human rights, while also looking ahead to continue working towards racial equality and justice for all. #Juneteenth #JuneteenthDay #EndSlavery #NeverStopLearning #EqualityForAll #PointeCoupeeProud

Today, we celebrate the symbol of our nation's unity, freedom, and history. Let us also remember the powerful message of the Statue of Liberty, a beacon of hope and liberty for all. "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." - Emma Lazarus This iconic quote reminds us of the enduring values of freedom and opportunity that our flag represents. Let's cherish and uphold these principles as we wave our flags high today!
