Middle School Teacher of the Year: Ashley Chatman serves as an exceptional special education teacher who brings positive energy and encouragement to her students each day. Ashley consistently goes above and beyond—always willing to assist her students, colleagues, and the school in any way she can. High School Teacher of the Year: Haley Capps leads the Pre-Engineering pathway and has played a key role in advancing and expanding the program. Under her leadership, students are gaining meaningful hands-on STEM experience and developing skills for future academic and career success. Her robotics team has achieved national-level recognition at the BETA Convention for consecutive years, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and student growth. In addition, she has successfully established a competitive engineering team, further strengthening opportunities for students to innovate, collaborate, and compete at a high level. Haley’s vision, dedication, and passion continue to elevate our engineering program here at SMA. 🍎
New Teacher of the Year: Rylie Guerin has demonstrated an eagerness to learn and grow since her first day at SMA. She continuously works to strengthen her skills and expand her knowledge, giving 100% effort in everything she does. Rylie’s dedication to her students and her profession is evident in her ongoing development and commitment to excellence. She recently earned her bachelor’s degree and successfully passed her certification exams, further showcasing her drive, perseverance, and passion for education. Rylie’s enthusiasm and hard work make her a valued member of our school community. 🍎
