We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Louisiana Pre-Educator Pathway—a new program that gives students a first-hand look at what it’s really like to be a teacher.
This pathway helps high school students take their first steps toward a career in education. Students will take education-focused courses, earn state-recognized credentials, and gain valuable classroom and field experience. Along the way, they’ll learn best practices, discover how to support diverse learners, and develop the skills needed to build a positive classroom environment.
Starting in high school and continuing through college, the program prepares students to become highly skilled educators while supporting Louisiana’s efforts to recruit and retain great teachers.
The pathway is open to both TOPS University and TOPS Tech students and offers Basic and Advanced credentials on the state’s focus list. It also connects directly to Louisiana’s “Grow Your Own” initiatives, helping to build the next generation of educators.
