On Thursday, September 21, 2017, Rosenwald Elementary hosted its September Family Engagement Event. Parents in attendance received an explanation of their child's performance regarding the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year diagnostic assessments. Pre-K parents received information on their child's performance on the district’s kindergarten readiness assessment. Kindergarten through second-grade parents received information on their child's performance on the Fountas and Pinnell assessment, an assessment that determines student’s independent and instructional reading levels. Additionally, parents of students in grades kindergarten through sixth received student performance data from the iReady diagnostic assessment, an adaptive assessment for reading and mathematics that pinpoints student needs down to the sub-skill level.
Information from all of the assessments is used by teachers to customize instruction and interventions.
