Students enrolled in Upper Pointe Coupee Elementary’s Journey to Careers class tested their STEM skills. Their facilitators, Ms. LaTosha L. Nelson and her assistant, Ms. Venessie Johnson, gave each group 25 sheets of white copy paper. The groups were told that each structure had to be able to support the weight of books located in the classroom. The winning group members were Adjah Johnson, Jarius Johnson, Mariah Landheart, and Makyah Landheart. Their structure supported 18 dictionaries, two packs of copy paper, and one basket. Other groups created excellent structures that supported a minimum of 10 dictionaries.
