In 5th grade at Rougon Elementary, students are learning to push their math skills one step further by combining math with art. Recently, the students created a tessellation with their multiplication facts. This helped increase their fluency and gave them some time to let their inner artist shine! They have also made decimal grid art, Veterans Day optical illusion flags, and colorful graphs for tracking their growth.
Currently, students are making music videos to math raps. As the year continues, who knows what other creative outlets these young mathematical artists will explore?
