Citizens in Pointe Coupee are all too familiar with working and raising awareness for cancer prevention and support not only during the month of October, but year round. Pointe Coupee Parish hosts a lovely and quite moving event annually for cancer survivors and for those who have lost their battle against this horrible disease. Students at LHS recently participated in a dollar dress day to raise funds for the cause.

Students in Mr. Randy Jarreau’s Welding Classes recently joined efforts with Digital Media students to fabricate, design and construct a project for the community. The students cut out and painted a large iconic pink ribbon to be displayed in the town to serve as a reminder during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
