STUDENT COMPLAINTS AND GRIEVANCES

 

 

A resolution of compliance with regulations against sex discrimination as outlined by, TITLE IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 was adopted by the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board on November 19, 1975.

 

The following grievance procedures were established:

 

  1. In the event that any employee of the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board has any grievance related to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, he/she should make it known to his/her immediate supervisor.  Any student or parent wishing to make a complaint should contact the school principal.
     

  2. The grievances and/or request for a hearing should then be forwarded in writing to the Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance.
     

  3. A committee composed of members of the Pointe Coupee Parish central office staff and the principal of the school involved will hear the grievances.
     

  4. The grievance committee will submit its findings to the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board.
