POINTE COUPEE PARISH SCHOOL BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING

 

MONDAY, JULY 20, 2009

 

The Pointe Coupee Parish School Board met in a special session on Monday, July 20, 2009, at the School Board Office, 337 Napoleon Street New Roads, Louisiana.  President James M. Cline called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

 

Board members present were Messrs. Chad Aguillard, Frank Aguillard, Brandon Bergeron, James M. Cline, Debbie Collins, Kevin Hotard, Anita LeJeune, and Thomas Nelson.

 

Frank Aguillard led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

 

Debbie Collins offered the invocation.

Candidate Interviews for Superintendent of Schools.  Candidate interviews had been scheduled from 8:00 a.m. - 5:15 p.m., and open to the public. Mr. Michael Lucia, Interim Superintendent served as the moderator; each candidate was asked questions by the moderator. Board members were also given an opportunity to ask questions. 

 

The following candidates interviewed for the position of Superintendent of Schools on day one of round one: 

 

Ronald Cheek 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.; Jerry Payne 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m.; Dr. James Loftin 10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.; Dr. Camacia Smith-Ross 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., Willie Haynes 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.; L. Wayne Cook 2:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m.; and Sheila Guidry 3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Adjournment.  On a motion by Frank Aguillard, seconded by Thomas Nelson, the meeting adjourned at 4:33 p.m.
